Style Like a Buccaneer

I wanted t' make sure I dasn't miss ou' on all th' fun o' Talk Like a Gentleman o' fortune Tide, by makin' me site auto-style itself fer th' voyagely occasion. Usin' K2`s semantic classes, this be as easy as grabbin' th' shipmate header image an' addin' th' followin' t' me custom CSS style:

body.m09.d19 #header { background: black url('k2-piratedayheader.jpg') center center no-repeat; }

Yaarrr! The header be now automagically styled fer maximum buccaneer goodness ever' Septembree 19th.

Happy Looting ya horn swogglin' scurvy cur!

Now Larger Non-Latin Fonts

A slew of minor updates have trickled into SVN lately (changelog), though I felt it was worth highlighting one in particular, which Steve just checked in. Namely the fix to the longstanding Issue 11. To make font-sizes larger for certain languages. If you're up for lending us a hand and you use Arabic, Persian, Hebrew, Hindi, Cambodian, Korean, Japanese, Thai or Chinese character sets, grab the latest copy of K2 off of SVN and let us know if it looks alright (as usual, do not use this in a 'production environment').

K2 and jQuery, Sitting a Tree

Steve says:

Good news everyone. As of revision 382, K2 now fully utilizes the jQuery JavaScript library. K2 no longer uses Prototype and script.aculo.us. They are no longer bundled with K2. Rolling Archives and Live Search should be functioning properly. Live Comments needs a few cosmetic tweaks. Text Trimmer is disabled and needs to be ported. #

Hackers. I Hate Those Guys.

It seems someone is trying their best to gain access to various user accounts on the forums over the last day or two. I've deployed counter measures, but please let me know if you notice anything suspicious.

The New Sidebar Manager

There's a new sidebar modules manager in SVN at the moment. By all means try it out, but I can tell you with some certainty that it is likely to break it all manner of ways for at least a little while. If you need stability, I suggest sticking to v0.9.6.
