We've got ourselves a new SVN server up and running, marking the last of the previously widely outspread resources that has been moved to this domain. If you're unsure what SVN is, then this message isn't for you, and you should move along.
For those of you who do know what it is, how to use and and last but certainly not least, how dangerous it is, the address is: http://getk2.com/svn
Be aware, that if you go on there now and get the latest version, we've made some changes in the structure of the files.
Do not expect everything to work when you get from SVN!
i really appreciate the work you guys have done with k2. it really helps my sites aesthetic value. p.s. there's a beautiful parse error on the new getk2.com page. i'm sure you guys will work the bugs out.
Woo! Revision 195 already. I think I already missed all the fun :D
mitch, I've fix the typo that cause the parsing error.
how do you get your images such as the feed icon on this page as well as the trackback link image and clock to appear centered so that it is floating instead of appear so that the bottom of the image is in line with the text. i looked at the css but i still can't figure out how to do it. any help is appreciated.
When the following public revision K2 will be ready?
Any day now.
Alright - up and running with R206 ;-) Thanks for the svn link.
i have r206 up and running. but it says r186.
sorry i mean. r185
The devs don't want to touch functions.php every time - you have to do that yourself if you want to display every new revision...
Actually we only up the number in the footer for public releases. That is why it won't always be in sync if you pull from SVN.
yeah i realized it now. thanks guys.
I really like the k2 template!
yeah, k2 rules! :)
I know svn keeps K2 automatically current. Any recommended reads on SVN?
K2 r209 installed and working like a dream.
What's changed between revision 167 and revision 209 (latest)?
Am I correct in assuming that 167 is safer to use on a production blog?
Relatively safe. You're bound to find a few bugs here and there, but I'm using it on a private blog myself, and it's mostly production ready. The latest releases have a lot of under-the-hood updates, like for instance localization.
If I wouldn't use localization, is there any other benefit to using 209 over 167?
I just installed r214. Seems ok for now.
K2 is very good
I made a simple tutorial on how to use SVN on OS X.
Thank you Dan, that's just what I needed! :-)
BTW, your link gives me a 404 but I found the page anyway.
Hi. Can anyone tell me how did that small timeline come on top of the home page of getk2 which lets you browse through multiple pages of a blog. Is it a plugin or something that was hand coded. Thanks
Anshul,
It's a new feature Michael is working on. I'm sure you'll hear more about it very soon!
Hi Craig. I got that from the svn actually. Thanks. k2 just rocks.
oh man, as soon as I get time, it is so on.
Did I miss something? How does one get the login information for the SVN?
Neil Forker, if you're new to SVN (like me), you have the same problem I did. There is no login for the SVN unless you're checking in new source code. If you're using TortoiseSVN, make sure you are choosing to Export, NOT Import. Hope this helps :)
Elliot .. THANKYOU .. man that had me going .. Import as opposed to Export. Should have read the manual :).
